Women supporting Women
Artists supporting Artists
Sisters supporting Sisters
The Swahili word for sister is “Dada”.
That is why we named this company Dada, to speak to the incredible impact of sisterhood across boarders and generations.
All of Dada’s beadwork is made by Maasai women in Kenya. We support women by working with them to find new modern ways to keep their traditional beadwork alive. Maasai are some of the most talented bead artists in the world and we love supporting the Mothers and Aunties of the community, keeping everyone clothed, fed and in school.
The clothes we use are sourced from second-hand shops in Nairobi, cleaned, and then beaded in Narok with traditional methods and styles. We love this blend of old and new!
